Samsung DLP Projection TV is the Winner of the Grand Award by Popular Science (U.S.)

The DLP Projection TV introduced by Samsung Electronics in July this year has been selected as the winner of the Grand Award, the highest honor for electronic products, in the December issue of Popular Science.
Popular Science, which is arguably the top science magazine in the United States, has been conducting \'Best of What\'s New Award\'. It selects the Top 10 very best products \(Grand Award Winner\) in 10 categories, including electronic products, computers, automobiles, and aeronautics & aerospace technology, at the end of each year from the products introduced or developed during the year.
What\'s New Awards Electronic Products Top 10, which is in its 15th year and is regarded as the \'Nobel Prize\' of technology\/new product area. In addition to Samsung DLP, Sony\'s PDA, Pioneer\'s digital projector, and Panasonic\'s combo recorder were also selected this year.
The Samsung Electronics\' DLP Projection TV that won the award was thus honored as the very best product in electronics. Its exceptional technological prowess in the form of DLP \(Digital Light Processing\) optical system, a new method differing from the existing CRT Projection TVs, and high clarity and high-definition \(HD\) was recognized.
Besides this Grand Award for DLP Projection TV, a 24" TFT LCD Monitor \(model name: 241MP\) of the company was also selected as the Top 10 product, there by winning the recognition for the high level of technological capability for Samsung Electronics. Due to these awards, brand image and sales for Korean products, and Samsung Electronics in particular, are expected to be enhanced.
\'Popular Science\' is the top science specialty magazine in the United States with a circulation of 1.6 million and history of 129 years.
